Firstly, they are longer lasting (they do not wear down as easily as the water flow is controlled by the gaps in two sets of discs lining up). Secondly, they are much easier to operate as there is little resistance between two sliding discs; they also protect the tap as limescale cannot form as easily.

In addition to the standard taps, there is a selection of taps which feature a special hose. Most taps feature a pull out hose, which can extend to up to one metre; they are designed to make washing large and awkward dishes a doddle by allowing you to manoeuvre around them. Other taps feature a directional hose, which bends but does not extend. Depending on the variety, you can change the flow of water to a spray at the press of a button.
