If you decide to opt for a minimalist look, the BathEmpire thermostatic concealed valves are a great option.
As the name suggests, all the pipework is installed behind the plaster wall, floor or ceiling (depending on the layout of your bathroom). This will leave your bathroom with a visually stunning, clean finish.
The key components of thermostatic concealed valves are:
The thermostatic concealed valves are sold as 1 Way, 2 Way or 3 Way mixers. Each name refers to the number of outlets to which the shower is able to deliver water. Concealed valves can be a bit confusing, so we have clarified the differences below.
One Way Thermostatic Shower Valves
These are ideal for a single main shower head.
- Top dial
Turns on the water and controls the flow of water. - Lower dial
The lower dial allows you to set the water temperature from 20°C to 50°C.
Two Way Thermostatic Shower Valves
These allow you to add a secondary outlet.
- Top dial
Turns the water on and controls the flow from a primary outlet. - Middle dial
Allows you to set the water temperature from 20°C to 50°C. - Lower dial
Turns the water on and controls the flow from a secondary outlet.
You would require the two way thermostatic shower valve if your shower kit consists of:
- A primary outlet – Fixed shower head
- A secondary outlet –
- Hand held shower head
- Body jets/bath filler
Three Way Thermostatic Shower Valves
These allow the most flexibility, as you can add a second and third outlet.
- Top dial
Allows you to select from a fixed shower head, a secondary outlet and/or a tertiary outlet.
You can have either one working outlet or a combination of two working simultaneously.
It is not possible for all three to work together. - Middle dial
Turns the water on and controls the flow. - Lower dial
Allows you to set the water temperature from 20°C to 50°C.
You can set up a kit where two of these outlets can be used at the same time:
- A primary outlet – Fixed shower head
